The Little Things – May 2014

It’s that time again!  Let’s chat about May happiness!

{In case you are new and curious, you can refer to my first little things post to see why I started the series – it involves a story about me yelling at cars.  It’s good stuff, I tell you.}

And what a good month it was.  Let’s jump right in.  Happy happy!

Kickin’ the month off right with a Cinco de Mayo potluck.  So. much. good. food.  And margaritas and sangria and beer for the boys.

Emma harassing my friend’s husband at said Cinco de Mayo party.  Big time stare down.

Crazy growing plants!  Although I think we put too many things in the one planter.  Gardening fail.

My work buddy.  She whines and cries until I let her sit on my lap – wedged in between me and the desk.  Super comfortable.  Or not.  But it’s cute and makes me smile.

My first baseball game at the Durham Bulls stadium.  Where I enjoyed one very delicious cookies and cream popsicle.  Yessss.

A surprise 30th birthday party for a friend!  Including one false alarm where we almost screamed happy birthday to the cable guy who came to the door.  There was also a “pac man” cake – which was supposed to be the UNC logo.  Not our best cake decorating efforts.

Side splitting, belly-aching laughter.  The best kind.  From saying things that you can only say around friends you are really comfortable with.

I don’t have a picture of this laughter so instead you get to see the happy birthday banner from the surprise party.  Which is where we laughed a lot.  So, yeah.

Officially starting the summer off right with a quick trip to the beach.  And I didn’t even get burned!  Which was likely due to my obsessive sunscreen slathering on business … about every 5 minutes.  Totally proud of it.

So tell me about your month!  What’d you do for Memorial Day weekend?  Share with me please, pretty please!
