The Little Things – January 2015

The Little Things - January 2015

I feel like just yesterday I was yapping on and on about all holiday things all the time and the fresh start of the new year … yadda yadda yadda. And now, hellooooo end of January. Craziness.

I also can’t believe it’s been a year since I started this series.

{In case you are new and curious, you can refer to my first little things post to see why I started it. And! I have not yelled at any cars in months! Progress.}

Anywho, let’s chat about January. And honestly, I did absolutely nothing that was all that interesting this month so we have lots of pictures of food and beagles. Forgive me. So let’s do this! January happiness!

The Little Things - January 2015

I was actually social on New Year’s Eve – which is shocking if you know me in real life. And I made an awesome “New Year’s Eve chalkboard of cheese” (you don’t even want to know how long it took us to come up with that name). AND! I stayed up till midnight! Granted we were all sitting on the couch just waiting for that dang ball to drop, but hey. We did it.

I know all of you who are getting dumped on by snow may feel different, but I got to see the pretty white stuff when I was in New Jersey early this month – weee! {Yes, I do miss the snow a tad living down south.} Although I had a slight panic attack as our plane landed in it – I’m a nervous flier, what can I say.

Which leads me to … getting to spend time with my mom and grandma for a week. And although we watched a slightly insane amount of not-so-hot television shows, I’m really glad I got in some quality time with them both. Which obviously included a trip to starbucks.

Coming home from said trip and getting to see this nut. The face of trouble. This was taken about two seconds before she head-butted all the pillows off our bed. And no, I’m not kidding.

We are really quite healthy eaters at our house (despite what it may seem from the amount I talk about cheese on the blog) and it has been so so nice to just eat normal after all the holiday madness. And yes, that is one of the farro meal bowls and how it really looks when I eat it and is not all perfectly displayed in a bowl.

Avocado toast + green smoothies = I’m a total january cliché. And I love it.

Frothy milk! The husband got me a milk frother for christmas and to say I’m obsessed with it is an understatement. I may be going a little crazy and insisting that I use it anytime I pull out the milk. If there’s milk to froth, I’m there (that sounds weird).

Emma’s stink eye. Totally cracks me up. This time she’s saying “really mom, I don’t care what the vet says and I don’t think you need to brush my teeth today. And if you think you do, I will be as difficult as humanly (beagle-y?) possible.”

And that’s it! I told you I live a wild and crazy life. So now it’s time to make me feel better. What simple things made you happy this month?? Share share!
