The Little Things – April and May 2015
And just like that, somehow it’s summer.
I feel like I yammer on and on incessantly about how time is passing so quickly, but seriously. How on earth is it almost JUNE. JUNE!
We have quite a bit jammed in for the next few months, so it’s pretty much a fact that they are going to blow right on by as well.
So, it seemed like a good time to stop and chat about April and May happiness! I’m lumping them together because it felt like they sort of blended into one. Maybe that’s just because I’ve been trying to do too many things at once and therefore everything gets a little blurry. I need to stop that.
Anywho … let’s get to this!
Backing it up a bit first to April. Easter! This was the first time in a long time we didn’t travel for the holiday. And man, was that nice. Plus, I got to bust out my pretty colored placemats!
And! I made a ham for the first time. Like ever. And it was awesome. Like, best ham I’ve ever had. Pats self on back. I was proud. Can you tell?
Warmer weather = iced coffee. Cue my squeals of happiness!
We took a trip to Asheville, NC for about a week and it was glorious. No work, no commitments, no nothing. And that was the view from the house we rented. Um, yeah. Gorgeous, right?
Of course while there we had to check out a bunch of breweries. And it figures that I was the only person at each who ordered prosecco and not beer. The looks I got were slightly entertaining. Prosecco forever ♥
Seeing this munchkin after we got back from our trip. Plus, this time I think she was terrified we were leaving her forever (poor thing) so she didn’t shun us per usual when we got back. Lots of cuddles instead. I’ll take it.
Walks walks walks! This picture was from one in Asheville but I’ve been trying to get outside as much as possible at home too. Although now that it’s gotten to over 90 degrees and super humid here, we’ll see how long my outside time lasts.
Dining al fresco! Which is especially awesome when a friend makes you lunch. Love love. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it when I get to relax and let someone else do the cooking!
They are planted! Our herbs that is. I love having them out back but my enthusiasm for watering those suckers has already died down … after less than a week. Who wants to come do it for me? I pay in food.
And that’s a wrap. I’ll see you bright and early Monday morning. With a veggie quesadilla recipe that has become a new favorite at our house. Stay tuned!
