Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Because this delicious dairy free chex mix?

It’s absolutely impossible to resist!

As in your entire family won’t be able to keep their paws off it.

Why you ask? Let’s discuss:

  • It’s perfectly crunchy, plenty savory and just the right amount of salty.
  • It’s packed with all kinds of goodness – from cereal to nuts to pretzels to spices.
  • And it’s fantastic for the holidays, gatherings, game day, lunch boxes, every day snacking. The list could go on.

Now, I know some people like to make their chex mix in either the microwave or slow cooker.

BUT I firmly believe the oven is where it’s at.

The mix gets crunchier and toastier and the flavors just seem to pop (in a good way) when you make it in the oven. It’s the best of all worlds!

How To Make Dairy Free Chex Mix

So, let’s talk about how this easy mix goes down:

Combine dry ingredients. First up, we’ll add some cereal, pretzels and raw nuts to an extra-large bowl.

Melt coconut oil. Next, we’ll melt some coconut oil in a small saucepan, before whisking in worcestershire and plenty of spices.

Toss everything together. We’ll pour the mixture into the bowl with the cereal and gently toss until combined.

Bake for 1 hour. Finally, we’ll divide the mixture between two baking sheets and pop in the oven until fragrant and crisp.

You can let it cool completely or dive on in while still warm. SO GOOD.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Feel free to adjust the ratio of the pretzels to Os to nuts if you prefer more of one or the other. Just be sure to keep the total amount the same.
  2. If you’re not trying to keep this gluten free, you can substitute wheat chex for either the corn or rice chex.
  3. Dairy free butter will work just fine in place of the coconut oil.
  4. And finally, let’s talk about the pretzels and Os. Personally, I like to use Three Wishes O’s Cereal (the unsweetened variety) and Quinn Pretzels – both are gluten and dairy free at the time of writing. {Side note – this isn’t sponsored, just what I like. You do YOU.}

How To Store

Let the chex mix cool completely then transfer to an airtight container. It will keep for about 1 to 2 weeks (if it lasts that long!).
